Simple device but functional
It’s a very simple device with few options but seems to work well. It can act as an AP to provide WiFi to an existing network or as a router if you need to take a direct internet connection and share it with multiple WiFi devices (providing dhcp, etc). Or you can use it as a WiFi to Ethernet adapter (connect a wired device to your network via WiFi - perfect for connecting non-wireless devices in an area that you can’t easily get an Ethernet cable to) or as a WiFi extender. In extender mode, you connect it to the network you want to extend and it just repeats that signal, allowing you to reach further.Price was $10 when I bought it. It arrived yesterday and when I looked at it, the price had been lowered to around $7 and I seriously thought about getting a couple more but decided to try it out some more first. Today, it’s over $12 😔I’ll wait until it’s on sale again and buy a few more for various uses.Update: it’s down to $8 so I’ve purchased 2 more to use connecting Ethernet printers in areas that don’t have an outlet but can get WiFi.

Ethernet to wifi!! It works!!!
Edit: I bought another one to use at home. in addition to what I wrote below, I use it to convert my old MacBooks WiFi into WiFi to visitors (which I do not want to give my WiFi password too)! To set up protected mode, connect the box to a power supply, connect laptop to it (choose from WiFi, do not connect eithernet cable yet!!), go to the address in the manual, and then choose protected and add password and press save. Now connect with eithernet cable, and you’ve got yourself WiFi for the whole house. Pretty simple.Previous review: This thing is very small, very convenient and portable. It’s one of those gadgets you buy and never know when you’ll need it until you do. My job WiFi is full and they couldn’t add my personal laptop to the network, and they wanted me to use one of theirs, but I don’t like using laptop computers because they are old and I’m just used to mine. My job however has eithetnet outlets here and there. I was thinking to myself “ I wish there was something I could use to make that Ethernet outlet into a WiFi” and then it downed on me.. it’s 2019 and probably someone already invented something like that!! I google “ Ethernet to WiFi” and ethernet to WiFi bridge was the first result. I searched in amazon and found this to be the cheapest option, I thought “what the heck, let me try it.” I bought it and boom, it actually works and now I have WiFi at work!! This thing cane without password though and I don’t want people to use it and slow it down, so the first thing you’d want to do is connect your laptop or phone to the WiFi through this device and then go to the website on the instruction manual ( it did take me s couple of tries to open that website though, I guess it needed sometime to set up the website or something) but once I got to the website, I was able to change the security from AP (no password) to “secure” and I changed the device name and password and now I enjoy a protected WiFi network at work! It’s totally worth it, I highly recommend it!!

Not Worth it, Better off looking for Name Brand Routers That You Can Trust
I decided to retract my previous 5 Star review on this product after much research and review from Amazon and now with the product being removed from the Amazon Marketplace that should show you a sign that it wasn't a good product, I agree with some people that it sends the signal back to its home of China, I don't like that at all and I use an Asus ZenMini Router with Trend Micro built in and it detected some suspicious connections that it blocked and so did Bitdefender Internet Security on my computer. I didn't like this at all so I unplugged the router and threw it in the trash. If you want a good small travel router please look for Name brands that you can trust like Netgear, Asus, Linksys, etc.

Difficult to set up but once you get it working it is fine
The instructions were confusing and the web interface that you have to use to set up this device is not intuitive but once you get it working in the desired mode it connects fine. This device only supports the older 2.4 Ghz wifi signal. It is useful to connect an ethernet only device to wifi as long as you are not doing something that requires a lot of bandwidth.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE SOLD - DNS HIJACK TO CHINA
The interface allows you to select the mode (AP/Router...) but it does not take any input either from static IP entry or from DHCP to provide the DNS. here is why, it sends all DNS traffic to an IP in China owned by Shanghai Telecom and they then have the ability to redirect your Session to wherever they want since they resolve the IP address to whomever they want. I saw a few connections to non US sites that triggered alerts in my security system. I had to setup NetFlow to see this and ultimately a WireShark PCAP on the device to find this. Amazon should never allow this device to be sold! DO NOT BUY THIS!

Excellent product
Amazing product. Super easy to setup. It’s 3 products in 1. I needed to convert my WiFi signal to Ethernet for the security camera NVR and it works without a hitch.

It's a relatively basic travel router.
Gigastone TR1 Mini Wireless Travel Router is small, compact, and ideal for a travel router with minimalist features. I use my Gigastone as an access point to rebroadcast the combined speed of three cellular hotspots throughout my off-grid cabin. Thus, I don't really need any of the router features. For eight dollars, I knew it would be minimalistic and lacking many of the advanced features found in more expensive routers. But, it works great for me.

なんか謎のデバイスでした。(^^;
