Buy this tester.
This is an excellent tester. Function, quality, price, and easy battery replacement with the screw cap design. My old Klein Tool tester is in the trash. More costly, unreliable, and extremely difficult to insert batteries. Need to depress very small tab with small screw driver. JV3

Not as sensitive as the GB version
I had a GB circuit tester for years before it finally crapped out. I got this Neoteck tester because it was cheap and it seemed to be the same kind of device.Pros: (1) includes little flashlight, that's convenient for working in tight spots. (2) It uses AAA batteries instead of button cells. (3) Easy to use.Cons: (1) It's not as sensitive as my GB tester was -- you can put the little plastic tip right into the neutral slot of a live 120-V receptacle and this unit will NOT beep. I found that rather weird. If the tip is OUTSIDE the receptacle or pushed into the hot slot, then it will beep. If you probe it around a switch plate it will not beep. On the other hand it will find wires through drywall so it's probably good enough for most uses. You just have to know its peculiarities. (2) kind of bulky compared to the GB but that's probably because it's designed to take AAA batteries. The user's manual contains funny Chinese-isms and other errors in English spelling and usage. "Cell Replaceme" for battery replacement and "The electric torque lights up when the electric torque switch (3) is pressed." (The word "torch" was intended there instead of "torque").But you're not going to read the manual anyway.

Simple AC tester
Simple and inexpensive. I used this for home electrical work such as rewiring a bathroom, adding a GFCI and replacing switches and outlets. I already knew the basic circuit breaker blueprint, but I have become tired of being electrocuted when either what I am told or what I assumed is wrong. This Neoteck tool helped me determine that I was working with two circuits and not one, thus protecting me from a possible shock. It also helped me determine that the previous owner wired a switch that I still have idea what it switches lol.It worked accurately every time I used it. I can be a bit paranoid so I verified each time on a live circuit that it detected 120vAC (the only voltage I have used it for thus far) as well as verifying that there is no voltage on what I am shoving my hand into to dig out wires. It did NOT detect voltage through drywall (nor did I expect it to), but did detect voltage at the wall plates. It does beep when it is bumped, but this is a characteristic of most brands in this price range. The solution is to approach the wire, outlet or area slowly, then wait for a persistent beep for a positive detection of voltage. I also did not think it was overly sensitive. I had to be pretty much on target for the tester to register voltage.I actually liked the light to look into the electrical box trying to trace where the wires I wanted went to.It seems a little cheaply made, but I tend to take care of my tools. However, accidents do and will happen. This would be my only concern is longevity, which I can not attest to since I have not had it that long.I would recommend it to anyone!

Performs as expected.
The media could not be loaded. I needed to change a light switch in my room and this was a MUST. I was able to receive it the same day with Prime and it came nicely SEALED and packaged with batteries, which is lovely. The instructions are clear and simple and operating the device is straightforward. The device is extremely lightweight and about 7 inches in length and under an inch in width, so it is easy to hold. The flashlight feature is CLUTCH, especially when replacing a light switch, since the light source is unavailable of course. The detector is pretty sensitive, so it detects electrical currents pretty quickly. I was able to confidently get right to work replacing my light switch, which was wonderfully convenient. If anyone is needing to do any repairs or maintenance at all dealing with electricity, GET THIS PLEASE! It’s extremely important to stay safe!!! Electric shock is a very serious injury! Better to be safe than sorry, get one of these!
