Q: How is the spring-loaded glass breaker re-set once it is used - as in testing?

It returns back to it's position in the red part. (I accidentally used it on my thumb)

Because of the design of car windows (except the windshield) it doesn't take a lot of force to shatter one. The force just has to be focused on a small point (hence why glass break hammers have a very small tip unlike traditional hammers). The benefit of this over a glass break hammer is you don't need to have any strength or mobility to use it (think arm injury or trapped after a vehicle rollover). Since it auto-resets (per another reviewer) you can use it a few times if needed but I'd bet the first hit would be sufficient. I haven't tested though.
