I'm very pleased with this avocado oil. It has a mild taste that doesn't jump out at you, making it workable for a lot of dishes where you want the flavors to meld rather than jump out. While I do enjoy the taste of olive oil (a good one, that is) sometimes mild is better, such as for a light dressing or when you want to add body to a dish without significantly impacting the flavors.This also has worked very well as a oil for frying/sautéing. It handles heat better than olive oil without breaking down, and the mild taste is a big plus.While I appreciate the lower resource use of the pouches, I was unsure about the practicality of using them -- it's the first time I've used oil that was not in a glass or plastic container. It works just fine, and is easy to use. It's especially easy to store in the pantry.This is a very appealing alternative to olive oil that provides some clear benefits. It won't replace all olive oil use for me, but it's an oil I'm growing very fond of using.

The product description seems slightly different from what I received. I received "extra virgin" avocado oil which states "bold flavor" and "medium heat cooking," but the pictured product says "neutral flavor" and "high heat." I received the same brand made by the same company and I'm not unhappy with what I got. It is, by far, the tastiest avocado oil that I've ever had and I wasn't planning on using it for searing/high heat use anyway. I liked it best coating vegetables or used in salad dressings as the flavor complimented these uses well. I liked the presentation and the packets that the oil comes in (which is unique). It's easy to unscrew the cap at the top and re-close it and the small portions mean less air exposure for the oil during its use. The opaque packaging also means no light exposure and I was happy about that, too. The only down side is that this isn't the highest value for avocado oil, but it is a premium product. It's a tasty option, but not necessarily an economical one.

I still consider this a processed oil and I'm very particular about my oils... I don't fry and I hardly ever do high heat cooking so refining an oil to have a high smoke point, etc, lowers the quality in my opinion rather than making it more useful to me. While this claims to be "steam-refined", that doesn't necessarily mean a less processed oil that hasn't been oxidized and denatured although it's a step better than many mainstream oils on the market.I realize the big selling point for this oil is its packaging: it has appeal in that it's very portable, travel-friendly, and takes less fuel to ship, theoretically lowering the carbon footprint. Unfortunately, there are actually a lot of strong synthetic chemicals used in the manufacture of shelf-stable pouches like these and you run into the issue of many agents similar to BPA and BPS leaching into your food. Legally, a company can state a container is "BPA free" ever since plastic companies came up with substitutes for that particular compound. Problem is, the substitutes are even worse for you and the environment. So this form of product containment isn't actually better for anyone, including the earth. But getting off my soapbox about that....if I try to just look at these pouches from a convenience angle, yes, this is a great product. However, the company has marked the price up higher than the same amount and quality of avocado oil in a glass jar so this seems a waste of money and not something I'd ever purchase twice. I'm just not sold, sorry guys. Maybe for camping?

This oil is sooooooo perfect for homemade salad dressings. I grow a lot of spinach, lettuce and other greens all summer and this oil make the absolute best vinaigrette.I made a garlic and herb vinaigrette for our salad and it was the best ever. I usually use olive oil but we prefer this avacado oil by far. It was delicious.I know olive oil is all the rage obut I'm just not a fan. The taste is just a bit too much for me.I ordered this avacado oil hoping I could use it instead of olive oil and we absolutely love it.In my opinion, avacado oil is sooooooo much better tasting. I know everyone's tastes are different but this oil is amazing. It's so clean and fresh tasting.I tossed some veggies in this oil, seasoned them and roasted them in the oven. So tasty!I also love the way this oil is packaged. Since it's just hubby and I, the smaller packaging means our avacado oil is always fresh tasting.And, if you get some on your hands while you're cooking, just rub this oil into your skin. It's better than any lotion you can buy.This avacado oil is a great value, is extremely versatile and is absolutely delicious.Win. Win. Win.You won't be disappointed with this avacado oil. A product of Mexico, this organic avocado oil has a clean mild flavor and can withstand high heat so it is an excellent choice for sautéing, grilling, frying, etc. The flavor is so neutral that unlike an extra virgin avocado oil, which can be very flavorful and have a deep green color, it does not distract from other flavors in the dish, sauce or dressings while still providing healthy monounsaturated fats.The BPA-free 12 ounce pouch has a re-sealable twist-off cap and the bottom is flat so it reliably remains upright for storage. The opaque pouch helps shield it from light which can deteriorate quality. After opening the oil does not require refrigeration just keep away from heat. To estimate shelf-life the Best By date is 11 months in the future but dates will vary. Excellent.
