ABBAMania: Tribute to ABBA

I don't normally like ABBA covers. Really, what is better than the original? But I have to say that I really am enjoying this CD. I am not sure if I have a favorite as so many of them are just plain good. I have not heard of most of these singers/groups. The Corrs version of "The Winner Takes it All" is very clean and melodic. I love Culture Club's version of V.V. It is everything you expect of Boy George: light, fun, playful, but not a song to underestimate. ABBA songs are not easy to sing well. Other favorites are "I Know Him So Well." And "I Have a Dream." I am glad I took a chance on this CD.

the cd has some cover excellent and different, but other songs are bad. More Good Songs that Bad covers

This is a fun tribute album, particularly for ABBA fans and fans of dance-pop. Highlights are "Money, Money, Money" by Madness (with more of rock edge), "Mamma Mia" by actress/singer Martine McCutcheon, "I Know Him So Well" by Steps, and "Does Your Mother Know" by defunct Irish pop group B*Witched. The songs are updated for the 90s but they fit so well in the present day they only affirm how timeless the music of ABBA is.

Complements the excellent TV show of these excellent UK entertainers who are now all grown up. If you like ABBA this should be In your music collection!

I've always loved Abba and when i seen this cd with all of the groups that i loved i just had to buy it. Rondall Banks

It was disappointing because you couldn’t hear the vocals too much. I was in the fourth row and could only hear the base guitars and drums. Sound wasn’t balanced.

What is it about the musical groups that cover Abba that suck all the life out of the songs? I actually really enjoy most of the artists on this album...when they are not butchering Abba. None of these singers have anything similar to the real vocal depth that Agnetha and Frida had, and there are boring dance mixes of already originally strong dance tracks. There ARE some decent 'tributes' on the album, but you may as well just pop in the real Abba: more enjoyment, less wishing for better production value.

Die CD kam gestern und so habe ich sie gleich gehört, sehr schön, Mit Abba macht man nie was verkehrt, von anderen gesungen klingt es auch sehr schön, besondersStephen Gately Version von Titel 4Chiquetita gefällt mir besonders gut.

CD arrived NDD, perfect quality - still sealed in original plastic wrap. Have used the CD bautniful times with no issues whatsoever. The only thing that lets this down is that I couldn’t buy an MP3 version - but who gives a damn as I’ve made them now anyway.I would definitely recommend to fans of cheesy music, ABBA, any of the artists. It’s just beautiful good fun.

I bought this CD recently because I wore my previous one out by constantly playing it in the car. Have also downloaded the CD to my computer so I can read my e-mails whilst listening to the music - ab. fab !
