Compact, Fish-Friendly Net with Smart Features
The KastKing Pontus Fishing Net is a well-designed tool that combines portability with functionality, making it suitable for various fishing scenarios. Its foldable and retractable design allows for easy storage and transport, which is particularly beneficial for kayak or bank fishing. Constructed with a 6063 aluminum alloy handle and a durable FBR frame, the net offers a sturdy build. The handle extends up to 61 inches, providing ample reach, and features a reinforced aluminum rib for added strength. The floating EVA foam padding ensures the net stays afloat if accidentally dropped, reducing the risk of loss. The net’s mesh is designed to be fish-friendly, minimizing harm to the catch, which is ideal for catch-and-release practices. Additionally, the built-in length scale on the net allows for quick measurements of your catch, though some users have noted it can be challenging to use with the fish inside the net.

Perfect backpack net
I got this net to store in my backpack for fishing lakes that require a bit of a hike. It transports well, stays untangled, is quick to pull out and works great for the fish I’m targeting. I haven’t netted anything massive with it yet, but I’m sure it could hold up to just about anything I need it for. It seems to be quite durable and a lot better than the old string nets I used in the past.

For fishing and “batting”
I needed a small portable fish net for a while and finally settled on this one. It’s relatively easy to assemble and fold back up for storage. It’s lightweight and seems to be built well enough to handle traditional pan fish like trout and such.I like the PVC coated net. This will help prevent dry rotting or molding that’s known for traditional types of hand nets, though I would make sure it’s completely dry before storing it.The only thing I didn’t care for is the handle locking device. I find it a to be a little quirky and question it’s durability, but only time will tell and I will update if it does become an issue.A couple weeks ago a bat, yes a fur-less flying rat, somehow snuck into our house. Probably was sleeping under our door awning and flew in when the door was opened. Anyway, I did the John Candy and Dan Akyroyd scene from The Great Outdoors 1988 movie. LOL, wife was screaming and laughing while I was trying to corral the flying critter, but I was able to using some household items. Anyway, after elevating my heart rate, I caught it and released it outside, but all the while wishing I had a net!I do now and the likelihood of having another “bat-scapade” is unlikely, but it’s good to know I have a “just in case” net available is reassuring lol. 😝

Great value
Big enough for catching small fish and bait, easy to fold up and put in your tackle bag. My 15 year old uses it all the time!

Out with the old and in with the KastKing
The media could not be loaded. I decided to get the net because of its floating capabilities and the inner depth of the net area. I already have a net that I use on my small pelican bass boat. The issues that I have were almost losing the net on more than one occasion when it accidentally fell into the water. The shallow net area makes it difficult to land larger bass and I would often get my treble styled lures tangled up in the net, which is a complete pain. The KastKing net solve all of those issues. I’m impressed with the thick floating mesh that helps prevent it from sinking if you accidentally drop it overboard. Being that non threaded material is used for a majority of the net, removing my lure is a heck of a lot easier now. While measuring your fish while it’s in the net isn’t the most practical thing to do, having a measuring scale allows you to get a really close estimate of how long your catch is, which is nice.Although the extended handle is shorter compared to the other net I have, it is very well built and feels solid in my hand. The foam at the end allows for a more secure grip on the net. Locking the extension pole into position is done easily with a few twists. Simply slide the collapsing lever down to easily fold the the net in half for storage in the included storage bag.The fish grips that came with the kit are much larger compared to the one connected to my scale. It has a wider mouth for handling larger fish. I will definitely be swapping out my smaller one for this.Lastly, the included hook remover works as advertised. At first I thought it wasn’t working properly when I initially used all four fingers to pull the hand back. I learn that using you lower two fingers for gripping and your upper two finger to pull the trigger works best and it’s actually very easy to pull back.Overall this is a well built bet and is definitely worth the money.Hope my review helps someone out there.

Short, but works well
Works well, nice and light, but the length is deceivingly short. Probably fine for netting fish yourself from a kayak but I bought it to net fish from a canoe. Buy the longer version

Keep your fish alive!
Very convenient size. Easy to unfold and it feels well built. I wish the handle was a little longer.
