Seemingly good workmanship, & durable for storage & future use for next surgery in about 6 months.
Sturdy & easy to put together. Fits nicely in shower & comfortable to sit on while showering. Light weight enough that I was able to pick up& move short distances.

Installed in 5 minutes, no instructions needed; seat is hard but unit is sturdy
This is the 14th raised toilet seat system that I installed, tested, and tried and it is the only one that took 5 minutes to install and I did not have to read the instructions. However, I am disappointed that the seat is hard and not cushiony. The unit itself is built like a tank but they skimped on the quality of the seat and for that I deducted one star. I was going to deduct two stars but this unit is built so well, I did not do that. There are only three toilet seat risers that I consider five stars. My absolute favorite riser without a bedpan is this. If a chair with a covered commode pan and covered seat are desired, then I recommend thisone or this one as both are equally as good. However, if one desires a bedside commode that is sturdy as a tank even if the seat is hard, then this one is it.The installation did not require tools. There is a toilet paper holder on the right side, which is a big plus. The height is adjustable seven notches. At the lowest notch it stands 15.5" to the top of the seat and at the highest setting it stands 21.5" to the top of the seat. The width is a fixed 22.5" which is actually not as wide as some other seats. I chose the highest height in my standalone photo. This is super sturdy. The Amazon site says this seat supports up to 300 pounds and there is no question that it does based on its sturdy build. In summary, this is super sturdy and the strongest made toilet seat I tried so far. Unfortunately the seat is thin, hard plastic and it is not comfortable. I also love that this has a flip down cover. If using this over a toilet, then it is possible the regular toilet seat will have to be removed to allow this commode to line up over the bowl. I was able to get my toilet to fit by sliding the seat back between the top and bottom of my toilet seat. I also like that this has a toilet paper holder on the right. If this had a softer seat, I would have rated this 5 stars. The current price of $79.99 is competitive with the other toilet seat risers I mentioned at the beginning of my review.

Unstable. Hard to assemble.
I've tried a lot of these kinds of products (camping toilets and toilet seat risers), and I must say this one has some value to it, but it also has some serious flaws to its design. For starters, the height isn't easily adjustable. I would have liked to see a button or trigger or lever that releases the legs to let them shrink or grow, similar to an office chair. The design also has very loose fittings, resulting in an unstable structure that likes to shake. For something advertised as being for camping, it doesn't feel like it can be relied upon to keep you off the ground. That said, as a toilet seat riser, it works quite well, and with some reinforcements to the structure (glue), it works well as an indoor toilet backup for those who can't rely on an actual toilet being available. The bucket collapses, which is nice for travel, but it also isn't very big, which can present some issues. The bucket also doesn't attach as securely as I'd like. If used for camping for extended time, I'd recommend a bigger bucket with some kind of attachment apparatus. It might also be prudent to learn how to dig holes for this sort of thing. In the past, my campsites had a bucket with the bottom cut off that sat on a hole where we'd bury the evidence. That's all you need, really: a bucket with a hole in the bottom and a seat on it as well as a shovel. This product is better suited for a long term fixture where you may have it indoors in a place far away from a bathroom.Overall, I can't recommend this product for its intended use case, but I can recommend it for other use cases. It's a good setup for an extra indoor composting toilet, and it has a lot of room for modifications. The value is there, too, and the build materials are mostly high quality even if the structural integrity and functionality left room for improvement.

Bad ,cheap, not worth any amount of money.so dissatisfied.won’t order anything else from Amazon.
I’m 84,don’t have money to waste on very cheap products.so I will continue to use my old one, better quality. I am afraid to keep the other item,so I have tried to cancel that too,but not successful,a walker, and bedside commode. The commode pail wouldn’t even hold one bowel or kidney trip.

Very handy for the elderly or injured
My mother suffered a stroke recently and has had problems standing up and moving more than a few feet. Walking to the bathroom is nearly impossible for her without help. This is especially a problem at night when we're sleeping. So we bought her the Able Life Universal Bedside Commode so she can use the bathroom without help. The commode has a catch bucket on the bottom of it and has aluminum handrails to assist in standing. I especially like the built in toilet paper holder. The seat height can be adjusted from 16 to 22 inches and the distance between handrails is 23 inches. So it can be adjusted for just about anything. If her condition changes we can remove the toilet seat and bucket and use the handrails by themselves around the regular toilet in the house. This has changed her life and gave her more of a feeling of independence. We're happy with the purchase.
