PRO ART 6-inch Divider, Scholastic

The product is in a plastic box used to store the parts. It was received in a larger than necessary Amazon box with the item loose inside. NO packing material, so the plastic box was broken on arrival and the parts spilled all over the inside of the cardboard box. The compass itself was mediocre with the ink attachment absolutely worthless. India ink would not flow from it. If you want to do simple pencil drawings with the compass, then it's OK, but forget about using it for inking.

I knew that these were pretty low and when I made the purchase. But, I'm still a little disappointed that they don't hold there position little better. There needs to be a little more tension.

it's a bit too loose when I'm trying to draw with it

I wanted a small divider to measure distances on maps, drawings, spec, blue prints, etc. It took a bit of looking because most of the things I found were compasses for drawing circles or measuring angles and cheap ones at that. This divider is made of a sturdy metal and with sharp steel points. It should last a long time.

This product does what I want it to do, but is difficult to use. The interchangeable parts are difficult for me to change out.

My husband is in drafting classes and this was required. He says it works well, the package is useful storage and the price was right.

I purchased this to be able to use Pigma Micron and other artist's ink pens on the Pro Art Compass that I ordered at the same time. Unfortunately, the Pro Art Universal Adapter does not include a shaft that fits the Pro Art Compass. Attached is a photo that shows the problem. To install this adapter, another shaft is required with a longer slot, as shown on the image.

Does what it needs to do - nothing extra special. Happy with it and I believe you would be too.
